Modified Games for Young Players

For our younger teams (U10 and U11), we believe in making cricket safe, inclusive, and most importantly, fun. That’s why we use modified games designed to build confidence and skills in a supportive environment. These games feature:

• Smaller boundaries to keep the action close
• Fewer players per side, ensuring everyone gets involved
• Shorter match durations to keep energy high and attention focused
• Every child has the chance to bat, bowl, and field, learning the essentials while having a blast with their teammates.
• If a player gets out while batting, they can continue to bat until their turn is finished.

Equipment for our U10 and U11 teams are supplied in a team kit, however if you choose to have your own set (which most players do) we do suggest:

Progressing to Full Cricket

As players grow and develop through U12, U13, U14, U15, and U16, the game gradually moves towards the traditional format. Boundaries expand, match lengths increase, and rules align more closely with senior cricket—preparing our juniors for the next level. Our experienced coaches focus on developing technical ability, tactical understanding, teamwork, and sportsmanship, ensuring a smooth and exciting transition for every player.

Representative Cricket Opportunities

For those aspiring to take their cricket to new heights, opportunities abound! Moorebank Cricket Club proudly supports and encourages players to trial for representative teams through the Fairfield Liverpool Cricket Association (FLCA).
